K9 Deployment was established in 2002 by Neil Van Der Wee initially providing guard dog and patrol dog services to local businesses principally using German Shepherd Dogs.
Today, some eighteen years later the company regional operations embrace Southern and Central England and Wales and provide drugs detection sniffer dogs and explosives detection dogs and use best of breeds; Labradors, English Springer Spaniels and Cocker Spaniels.
Neil's own background represents a close affinity with the business, handling and training specialist working dogs for the last two decades.
Neil holds HABC Level 3 Certificate as a Proactive Drug Protection Drug Handler and HABC Level 3 certificate for a Passive Drug Protection Drug Handler.
He has also distinguished himself amongst his peers by competing in and accruing the most wins of any handler at the NASDU Annual National Security Dog Trials, winning it on no less than four occasions with two separate dogs; Louis and Poppy and has won 1st prize in the handler protection round with his working dog Baloo.
TRAINING AND STANDARDS
Needless to say, Neil is passionate about ensuring all dog and handlers teams are trained to the highest standards and provide the best possible customer service. The focus on training, certification, and ongoing training is huge. K9 Deployment staff are fully qualified dog handlers. They are all SIA licensed with full enhanced DBS checks, they carry out continuation training monthly and licensed as a drugs search team every year by approved training providers.
Neil continues to develop the two core services of Explosives Detection Sniffer dogs and Drugs Detection Sniffer Dogs, the dogs being "Single Purpose" either trained in Narcotics detection or Explosives Detection, but not both, aiming at specialist skill levels, and between being asked to give talks and demonstrations of the olfactory prowess of sniffer dogs he does continue to work directly in the business.
